Stonington, Maine

From 2003 through 2014, Rebecca Daugherty and her husband Michael ran Isalos Fine Art in Stonington, Maine, just across from the harbor. They lived upstairs, where Rebecca’s studio overlooked a broad range of subjects competing for attention: everything from the fleet of fishing boats to the seemingly constant road construction.

In 2009, she was included in Carl Little’s article “Artists of the Working Waterfront” in Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Magazine. Her painting Roadwork: Cleaning-Up was included in the 2010 Center for Maine Contemporary Art Biennial Exhibition. In 2011 her work was included in the Penobscot Marine Museum's "The Art of the Boat" exhibition.

During her residence in Stonington, she created a large body of work, most of which is now in private collections.
